Liquid
Fuel Tank “Swings” and Refurbs
Older steel tanks still have service life remaining: Continue in delivery
service, spare truck, changed over to other service such as bulk oil. Whatever the
plan, we can help bring the tank back to “near- new” condition. Capabilities include:
- Blasting
- Replacing panels
- Compartment repair
- Painting
- Decalling and trims
- Pump rebuild
Aluminum cargo tanks have longer tank life with
less repair. When time comes to replace the chassis we can also enhance the tank
with polishing or painting. The aluminum surface is chemically etched to maximize
adhesion before the painting process. New decals and a fresh look can create a strong
marketing presence in your territory – even with an older tank. The entire process
will entail:
- Measuring the tank
and ensuring the chassis is compatible and to reduce component relocation. Especially
important with newer chassis’ due to the particulate filters and emissions controls.
- Prep the chassis
ahead of time. Install PTO’s, pumps, run the controls, etc. prior to delivering
your truck to Yorkville to move the tank. This minimizes down time for you.
- Upon arrival the
tank will be removed, At this point tank repairs, etching/painting if needed, and
hold-down installation can be performed.
- Tank is remounted,
plumbing and controls connected, and testing performed. At this time final polishing,
decal application and quality control inspection is performed.
- The completed unit
is once more ready for service. Communications are kept up during the operation
to keep you informed if unknown conditions or more repairs are found and to post
you on progress of your unit.
